Here are four tips to protect yourself against fraud:



1. Be wary of a price that is too good to be true, it often is!

2. You should be extremely cautious about sending money via wire transfer--particularly overseas. The safest method is to use cash and make the transaction in person or by credit card through a reliable escrow service, such as Escrow.com.

3. A common online scam is a buyer offering to buy your vehicle on behalf of a "client" via cashiers check in excess of the selling price. This is a scam! Always give your bank 30 days to clear a cashier's check before "refunding" any money
